Default Upgrade the proc?

One of my friends said he was thinking about upgrading his proc. I always thought that that was the one thing that wasn't upgradable. If someone knows the right answer please tell me. Thanks.

The only way to upgrade a processor is to buy a new one.

But you can buy a new one right. Then just put it in the old proc spot. Its on a Dell. Does that make any difference.

You'll have to check the motherboard, and only get a small range of possible Processors. But it can be done. Can't upgrade it by much though generally - probably not worth buying another one. Depends on the Motherboard. Have a check what its compatable with.

Forget it,you'll might only upgrade 1/2 gb get frusterated flashing the bios etc.
Otherwise you now have spent $100 plus, and have
this "old cpu" stareing you in the face.Go to Ebay i guess.
Or
Get an upgrade combo MBD/CPU and case installed by pros.
