Default upgrade OS question

i am planning on doing a mobo/cpu/ram/Vid upgrade on my comp and i was wondering if my retail version of XP would transfer over if i used the same HD. But seeing as how my HD is old and i need a new one if i could transfer xp later after the first upgrade if i was to get a new hd.

Default Re: upgrade OS question

From a quick Google search, it looks like you can just do a system repair after switching motherboards.

Not sure how well it works, never done it myself. Maybe someone else will chime in.
