Hi all. I'll keep it brief.

Is it worth upgrading to Vista 64 bit? And will this have a negative impact on the 32 bit games like BF2? - Having to run them in compatibility mode.

Should I get the 8800GTS or GTX? The ultra is out of my price range.

I'm running e6600 3.2 on air (sonic tower) with a gigabyte DS4 with a x1900xt on XP 32bit. 2GB 800Mhz Geil. 600W Seasonic PSU.

If anyone can help me figure out the pros and cons I'd really appreciate it!.

Cheers.

Vista 64bit is fine, go for it, it's really not as bad as people say. And you don't have to run 32bit applications in compatability mode as Vista 64 has the "program files (x86)" folder where it stores all your 64 bit applications. For the GPU, get the new 8800GTS with the G92 chip. Do not buy the older 320/640MB versions of the 8800GTS. The new GTS is about 5% slower than the GTX but it's like £100 cheaper.

Yes, its a much smoother running OS givin that you have the correct hardware. There should be no negative effects.

Get the best quality video card you can afford. With graphics, every penny will count when you purchase a new one.
