Hi everyone, first time poster here at ComputerForums. Anyways, I was thinking about upgrading my Intel Pentium 4 Processor @ 2.4Ghz 400Mhz FSB Socket 478. And I already have 2 different porcessors on my mind, which is:
a. Intel Pentium 4 2.8Ghz, Prescott Core, 533Mhz FSB, S478, 90nm, 1MB L2 Cache
-or-
b. Intel Pentium 4 3.06Ghz, 533Mhz FSB, S478, 512K L2 Cache.

I'm looking towards option A. because it's L2 Cache is 1MB and it has SSE3 intructions, and I am medium to hardcore gamer. But the 3.06Mhz has Hyper Threading on the chip, but it costs about $300+ US Dollars. Please some suggestions, Thanks in advance.

Go with the newer 90nm Prescott, it at least runs a bit cooler then the other P4 130nm process Prescott.... and the SSE3 and extra cache do help. Go with the 2.8, definentally.
