Default Updates Starting automatically

I am having a problem with updates starting when I don't want them to. I play on line games and the other day my computer went to the desktop and asked if I wanted to update something. I thought it was Quicktime but I have auto updates turned off. How can I make sure all updates are turned off? Thanks for any help.

Default Re: Updates Starting automatically

Itunes and Ouicktime are a different animal there with their own built in updater that checks for the latest according to the settings you see when installing one or both of them. Review the menu bar>edit>preferences and uncheck the "automatically check for updates" box in Itunes.

Quicktime sees that in the menu bar>edit>preferences>updates tab.
