Default Unwanted ads

I'm getting loads of ads apparently suppl;ied by IE, a large window opens showing ads by Popular Screensavers, Free Smileys, Jackpot Joy.com, Online Casino etc etc.
The blue border at the top of all these, states; [name of the company] provided by Internet Explorer., how do I get rid?

download lavasoft ad-aware or similar to get rid of the nasty files.

Probably, but I ran Ad Aware & SpyBot, nothing.

you could download a separate pop-up blocker or try a different browser.

Try disabling the Windows Messenger service. Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. Scroll down to Messenger, right click it and select Properties. Under Startup type, select Disabled and under Service Status click the Stop button. Click Apply, then OK.

Try deleting all your cookies to see if some adware has stored itself in there, have you downloaded any new tool bars or smiley programs lately that might have had the ad software bundled in with it.

ABSOLUTELY NO self respecting computer enthusiast should say those words. :P

My reccomendations:

a) try a new web browser, IE is definitely not the greatest.
b) if a is unacceptable (for some strange reason), re install IE.
c) if it is still un-fixed, you should triple check that it is not a virus or adware, and get a reliable/quality program for that. I love Kaspersky. It is fast, very protective, and uses hardly any system process.

good luck!

Kaspersky is excellent I'm using there 2007 INTERNET suit right now and there ad blocker is brilliant,no pop ups at all, the only other one I know that was as good as it was Norton INTERNET security 2005 ad blocker.
