Meh still no luck, guess im just gonna have to sync it with a friends itunes coz this is starting to make my hair turn gray =( thanks for all your help guys =P

instead of formatting why not restore to an earlier point where the files weren't created.

also did you do what alvino told you? going to the processes tab under the task manager??

I wouldn't trust restore to an earlier point IMO i don't think its reliable.

You can try just using this:
http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/

Another way to do it would be to make sure in Task Manager that you end any processes like iPodService.exe.

Its already been tried doesn't work
I will put money on it the if he uses restore point it won't work becasue hes installed and uninstalled so many times

reformat is the only way

I think some iPod stuff runs when iTunes is off. So you could go to ctrl+alt+delete like alvino said. I had iTunes turned off and I didn't even have my iPod plugged in and I still had a program called iPodservice.exe running.

Looks like this idea has been proven wrong...:dodgy:
