Default UltraVNC

For some reason I just cannot get these 2 computer on my little home network to connect! They both have Vista HP SP1, same exact UltraVNC version and all, I don't know if its my router not being configured right (its a Netopia 3347-02) or what. I really want to get this going like before in XP.

In XP all I had to do was download/install TightVNC and connect to the computer. No settings up needed.

Have you turned the authentication off? Are the encryption settings right? Do you have the right ip addresses?

I just went through this with vnc today on my laptop and my fileserver.

Well I got it working yesterday but now whenever I try and connect to my computer from a laptop it closes the viewer a few seconds after. It shows the desktop shortcuts and I can move the mouse around but...yetah.
