ubuntu linux install issues

ok im trying to dual boot linux and xp on my old crappy laptop
p3 700mhz 128mb ram 20g hd
any way i put in the cd
it loads menus comes up says start or install
i hit that
it has a loading bar for a little bit then i get a blank screen.......
any ideas?

Redownload it, put it on a new cd, put that in your drive and restart the computer...

I have linux dual booted with XP for a while.. didn't really do anything with it.. until windows crashed

i need linux xp is to much for this old peace of junk and ive been using it a lot
hopefully linux will allow me to work with less lag and loading

Well, then get rid of xp and just put on linux

I had to do alot of stuff to transfer my files between them though..

OH, I know what I did!

Windows Crashed and I wanted all my stuff.. So I installed Ubuntu on it, and about 2 weeks later I finally got most of my files off of it... I had a 10gb (old) had with ubuntu on it and I used my 60gb ipod to get all the stuff off.. I have a post for that about a year ago lol
