Hey all
Before a couple of weeks I purchased a laptop with i3 processor with a different logo than the ordinary one.
seller told me that this new logo processor indicates that it has a double core inside which differs from the old logo i3 processor.

Can you tell me is that true ?
thanks for your respond

Yep theirs 1st generation and 2nd generation , we don't know which one you have because you haven't shown us the specs..

It should say in bios or in Cpu-z

Actually, the differences between the two generations of i3 processors is this:

First Gen i3: Dual core, HyperThreaded, integrated GPU, based on Nehalem microarchitecture.

Second Gen i3: Dual core, HyperThreaded, larger cache than first gen i3, some of the new instruction sets introduced with Sandy Bridge microarchitecture

So they're not entirely being honest with the "double core inside" since that hasn't changed much, but it essentially boils down to these differences. The new i3 is nothing to sneeze at, it's a great little low cost CPU.
