first of all I appologise for how my brain works

has anybody built a twin system i.e. two motherboards in one case with associated ancilleries probably mod two cases (have to be the same ones)

one m/board for gaming
one m/board for work/internet

dual monitors

could you share cd/dvd drives with separate H/D's for each motherboard

why do that, you can build a computer that will do all of that and you won't have to bother with 2 mobo's and modding the case and all that. Too much effort for something that is really simple to do.

Or just get 2 really smal cases and a KVM switch. If you look hard enough, you might find a KVM switch with USB(say to share external CD/DVD drives) audio, and of course your input devices and monitor

whew...

The usb ports on a kvm switch are for usb mouse and keyboards, not storage devices.
Multitask one computer. It's cheaper...
