Default TV Tuner, Pc to TV converter

I can't connect my laptop to my tv and watch my dvd's.

I am wondering what I would have to buy??

And if somebody could give me a link to a good piece of equipment???

I would like it if you could find one where i can stick a composite cable into the tv. And either S video or VGA plug into the laptop.

Alright, so would i use a tv tuner?? Or is it a pc to tv converter box??
Or are they the same??

Oh yeah, i'm looking to keep this under a 100 US bucks.

Are these the types i'm looking for??

That 2nd link should be what you want. If you want to capture video(or use a TV Tuner) you'd like to find a CAPTURE card/TV Tuner. What you posted is simply a tuner that connects to a monitor, which wouldn't work unless you used an external monitor on your lappy.

What those do is display whatever is showing from a VGA port on your computer to your TV. Your laptop should have a VGA out on it that you can connect right to this. Some laptops even have modes where both the LCD and VGA port work at the same time.

A little hint on quality. First off, you will NOT get great quality out of an avery key. They are decent, but not wonderful... All TV Out's have rather poor quality due to differences in how TV's work comapred to monitors. 2nd, the lower the resolution, the better off you are. Something like 640x480 would probably yeild the best results. Finally, play with the settings on the averykey. Overscan should give you some of the best results...
