Hey, My friend has a TV tuner and when he records TV it saves the movies as .avi or something like that. It saves it as uncompressed...
\An hour Video is like 15GB... Anyone know anything I can download or change that will shorten this?

15GB for an hour video?! that's a little high, I save mine as MPEG and they're only about 3.5 - 4GB for an hour video. Try saving them as MPEG or something else and see if that works.

Also, if possible download and install the DivX codec is space is an issue, as it uses great compression to make the good quality picture a small size...

well, I think the problem is he cant choose what he saves it as, and about the compression... yeah he compresses stuff, but he wants to be able to record a couple of shows a night, while sleeping..
and at 15gigs a pop you can do that

Media Encoder 9 from Microsoft. It's a freebie.
