Default Tv/monitor shopping

Ok
I know very little when it comes to HDTV.
I know the higher number is better. (720 and 1080i and p)
I know I would like a bigger screen.
I know I think I need the tuner thingermabob.

I know it's pricey...

So this is where you guys come in.
I need help finding a good size tv for under 400.
I don't know the best brands other then sharp.. I have heard that vizo's support is very bad. I looked at newegg but I don't what the specs truely mean...
So what do you say can ya help me?

Under $400.00? You're joking of course.
My Toshiba 32AV500U I caught on sale at Best Buy for $549.00. $620.00 with tax.
Keep an eye on the flyers in the Sunday paper like I did. I then went to the store and compared the sets in my price range and chose the Toshiba. The picture is amazing. Has all the connections I want and the warranty is good.
