FYI I just found out that my ISP doesn't allow the setting up of internet servers like FTP or HTTP. So if you do change your mind and decide to go that route, (might be convenient to have access to the files outside of your network), check your ISP's terms of service.

Yeah, I've actually used an ftp program called Serv-U and didn't have a problem. I don't think I need access to my files outside of my home network so that shouldn't be a problem.

Or just tell your ISP to cancel your service if they don't like it
