Default Turion vs. Core Duo

Turion 64 MT-40
Intel® Core™ Duo Processor T2600 (2.16GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 667MHz FSB)

Which has better battery life and performance?

I'm also wondering, what is this processor? AMD Turion™ 64 Mobile ML44 2.4GHz 800MHz FSB 1MB L2 Cache

I would go with Core Duo, or better yet, wait for the Merom core to release and see the Core Duo fly.

Why? Is it more powerful and more battery efficient?

Merom are better made for laptops. With it's low power efficiency and it's 65nm (sp?) core, it's really low power. The Turion is still low power, but it's 90nm.

Merom. Merome is just a mobile Conroe, and AFAIK, Conroe > any A64 out right now.
