trying to decide between two builds

@megahippo - After looking at both systems, I would suggest the Acer over the MSI. Hope this helps!

I would go for the MSI laptop as the gaming performance is more affected by better video cards, plus you don't need to spend more money on unnecessary CPU computing power!

Best CPU -> Acer

Best GPU -> MSI (But not by a very large margin)

Best RAM -> Acer

Best Screen -> Acer

Best HDD/s -> Acer

A clear win for the acer. CPUs and RAM are as if not more important than GPUs when choosing a gaming computer. The difference between the 5850 and the 5870 won't be noticable unless you really look deep, and the Acer's specification in other area's eats up and spits out the MSI.
