i just got a new laptop yesterday and i have some files from my desktop i want to put on it. what would be the best way to transfer these files. i used my 128mb usb key for some music but i have some movies i want to put on it so i can burn them to a dvd. and those movies are a lot bigger than 128mb

you can always use windows xp's built in file transfer... I would look into it =D

Something I use that's even more useful than Windows XP File Transfer Wizard is the Detto IntelliMover 3.0 USB Migration Kit. This is an awesome way to transfer files, folders, or what have you from one computer to the next. You can check it out here at TigerDirect.

I would go with Windows XP file transfer, you won't have to download anything and its integrated so both computers are compatible :D
There are other ways but i just find this to be the simplest

Just send them via USB?

This is actually the best idea of them all. Just plug into the usb ports on both machines and click the files and drag and drop or right click and send to> can't get any simpler than that.
