Default Touchscreen Monitor Software?

So I have this old touchscreen from a DirecTV kiosk that I got from circuit city back in the day. I have no idea what brand it is, but its about 14.5" and is very simple on the back. It only has power, vga, and a mini audio jack. There is also a ps/2 cable coming out of the back with a coupler for a ps/2 mouse on it. I want to hook it up to my computer and play wow with it but when I touch it, it doesn't respond. It works and shows the desktop and all though. I'm guessing there is software I need to get it to work. So my question is, can I just do a google search for touchscreen software and get whatever comes up, or do I need specific software for this touchscreen? I'm running xp sp2 and I have a q6700 and 4 gb ram.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks
