toshiba black screen

hi im danny. my computer has recently been acting up. it wont show anything on screen on fire up. however if i press f8 quickly it mostly comes on ok. any ideas please. if took battery out etc pressed start and reconected power. its driving me nuts lol thanks

I would check that your power supply is up to snuff.

It's a laptop right?
