Personally, the Dell has a better screen and design. If you want to save more, buy your own RAM and upgrade after you receive your computer. It's generally cheaper than buying directly from the manufacture.

I would go with Asus. I have had a very good experience with Asus. Some of my friends use Dell and I prefer Asus over it. Moreover Asus laptops have a very good motherboard compared to the cheap mobo from Dell.

that ASUS link that is posted above is 99% the same pc that i built........ okay 98% the same
the only differances would be
the built-in AT&T card
and the LoJack
other then that its the same pc
and with the differance that i will save i can buy the Office software
and it will still be cheaper

I agree with J. The screen quality on Dells are pretty good. Their prices aren't bad, the only thing that's ridiculous is the RAM price, but you can easily buy that off newegg for 1/3 of the price.
