My current set-up is in my sig. and it's well overdue an upgrade.

All I need is a motherboard, CPU, RAM and CPU HS&F and i'll order from Scan in the next few weeks. :D

This for £440.

LANPARTY DK 790FXB-M3H5 - Motherboard

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black - CPU

Thermalright True Black 120 - Heat Sink

120mm Akasa AK-FN053 - Fan

4GB (2x2GB) Corsair TwinX XMS3 - RAM

I use a lot of audio production software with loads of plugins, Photoshop, etc. so I was edging towards a i7 setup. But the set-up I have chosen above is miles faster than what i'm currently running any ways and....

I LIKE AMD!

And I will be OC'ing too.

Any comments appreciated before I order please. No more than £450.

EDIT:

I've seen this lot for £460.

Asus P6T SE - Motherboard

Intel i7 920 - CPU

Thermalright True Black 120 - Heat Sink

120mm Akasa AK-FN053 - Fan

3GB (3x1GB) Corsair Dominator - RAM

An i7 will benefit you a ton more with editing. It's roughly 50% faster clock for clock in most editing programs.

Thats the dilemma i'm in and to be honest I haven't researched an i7 set up to go and order in the next few weeks. And I want to OC too but have no experience with Intel OC'ing.

when u get it all together, do some benchies, i am interested to see how the 965 will fair ;)

Will do. I'd like to get it to 4GHz minimum :D
