Default thinking of a new CPU

right ill get straight to the point i bought this pc in 2007 its a duel core AMD i dn't even know why i want to upgrade but ive had the thing 4 years i feel behind in technology.

my motherboard is a HT2000 REC:1.0 15-V01-011000

i am woundering if it would support quad core and if so what processors would it support as ive never bought or changed a processor before however i have a good knowledge of computers and it doesn't seem so hard to do its just getting the right 1 any help would be appreciated.

not fully decided on getting a new processor just an idea might just decide to get awhole new system just looking at options

ty in advance
