I'm buying a new computer and this is what I want and what I can get under my budget. Thanks for any help or suggestions on better products! I'm still lookinf for a good case, too.

the parts are all compatible, you also need an operating system with that and you'll be good to go. i WOULD recommend reconsidering your motherboard though, i'd look into a better quality one, perhaps one with a 965/975x? maybe even a 680i?

The problem with all the 965 chipsets is they only support RAM that needs 1.8V, and I can't find a cheap enough 975. Will a cheap motherboard really hurt my comp?

well.. the comp only goes as fast as your slowest piece of hardware. so they do play an integral role in the functionality of your computer. hmm.. i'll try looking for some decent ram/mobo

Well, if the 975X series are too costy, this one should do for you in theory:

The 965 chipset may only support the 1.8V RAM, but if you put one higher, there's two choices: Either it will boot in the low profiles, or it won't boot. Maybe it will boot at higher voltages.

It really depends what you want to do with your computer.

If you are going to be browsing the web that board will be just fine.

But if you want to game, and by your vid card it looks like you do.

The most important item IS your

1. videocard

then i would say

2.CPU
3.RAM
4.Mobo
