Default thermal paste on cpu with stock cooler

Hi all, my son's HP laptop died so we decided to build the $1500 computer as per worshipme. antec 1200,9550,dfi lan party,4850,ect.. The stock cpu cooler had paste applied from the factory so we just installed it as is. Will this be alright, or should we remove the factory stuff and apply something better. He's not oc'ing and we just have 1 4850 for now. Thanks, Dave

Yup, the stuff that comes pre-applied stuff will work just fine. You really wont see much of a difference using thermal paste like Arctic Silver. Maybe about 3 or so.
