Default telnet

when connecting to another computer by using telnet how do you know whitch port to use?

23 is the default telnet port i think

You would be correct, locomtivebreath. Also, make sure you have port forwarding setup, if you have a router. If that's the case, you may want to think about setting up static IP addresses. Also, make sure you check the IP address on the outside of the modem (the one from your ISP), as it probably changes every week, two weeks or so. This looks like some decent reading, if you need to know more...
