Hi all,

i have a slightly damaged PCB from an XBOX 360 DVD drive which will no longer work. this happened because my 16 year old want's to be a computer tech  (another one). i have located the SMD that contains the "vital information" and i am going to remove it but...is there any way i can read the chip directly on a different PCB? or some sort of dev board? i would greatly appreciate any info at all as the removal of the chip will definitely damage the PCB thus restoring the chip to a good PCB is not really an option (i don't want to spend $200 on a rework soldering machine).

thanks for all your help..

by the way, this is not for the purpose of illegal flashing or illegally copying games this is to fix this broken original Xbox 360 because Microsoft does not cover stupidity and besides the warranty is out.
