just to make sure where talking about the same thing, this is what im pulling on

yeah, that picture is exactly what you do in a way, you have to pull really hard back, and down and then slide the whole thing out, i am real sorry this is so hard, i hate working on my old one and its real difficult to explain, just keep at it and it will eventually slide out.

Also, this thing has an ethernet 10/100 card and it has like a phone card thing, do i need the phone card one?

no thats for dialup you can use the ethernet one and it will work.

The ethernet card doesnt blink when the computer is on and it doesnt connect to the internet does that mean its dead and i need a new one?

yes, you can get one for like 10$ online, alot of peole (like me) have them lying around just ask for one.

thats what that looks like, it will slide towards the direction the cd opens when you pull that lever back and down and slide it at the same time.
