Default System restore

I just tried installing SP2 on my system, and just as I had expected, it messed everything up. I did a system restore back to SP1, and everything is fine so far.

After I installed SP2, Windows installed 64 updates automatically. When I did the system restore back to SP1, were those updates removed as well? Also, can I get rid of the duplicate files sitting in my Windows directory? I don't think I'm going to be undoing this restore in the future.
