Default System Fan alternatives...

Just a quick question, mainly out of curiosity.
I noticed that the sys_fan plugs on motherboards look the same as say f_audio or f_usb ports (among many others).

Is it likely that a system fan could plug into a spare port such as a spare f_usb port on your motherboard, having it draw power from the motherboard? Or would it be likely to lock up your PC etc?

Don't plug anything that doesn't belong onto the motherboard slot. USB slots are meant to make a connection to the motherboard, not power. You will damage your motherboard. You will see one pin missing on most of the connections.

Hehe, no worries!
I wasn't planning to do it unless I knew it was a trick that some people had accomplished.

Thanks
