Default System Fan

I installed ubuntu 7.06 and now everytime i open a program, it starts the fan. I dont know if its the graphics fan or not but it just starts the fan. Am i suppose to install drivers for anything ? or wats my problems its really annoying.

which fan ?what is your system specs ? and as raffaz said why are you so bothered is it noisy or something ?

i was just thinking that , cos usually the fans on a desktop are on all the time

Yea, i got 3 runnin, quite noisy somewhat, but now that i took off the grills theyre quiet. And what fan turns on green101??

Well it doesn't do it when i boot up windows. It bothers me that its goes on then a second later off. if its gonna go on, it should stay on. and im on a desktop btw

i dunno running anytype of application or program on ubuntu will turn it on.

sometimes randomly actualy. like now i didnt do nothing besides resize the applications window and turned off after 2 secs. so i guess its from my graphics card.

try dusting out the case it could be turning on as it is getting too hot
