The switch to mac

didnt mean to turn this into a mac vs pc thread, i just wondered why so many graphic designers go with mac over a pc, especially considering the price jump. I personally think that macs gui when using adobe programs and, well, actually its gui in general is better then any windows or linux operating system. are their any peformance advantages to running mac os x versus linux and windows. I'm not talking about security advantages or anything like that. Does the operating system itself, offer advantages in the category of graphics design?

Yes, it does. Those programs were designed on macs for macs. Macs have certain capabilities that PCs dont in computer graphic fields.

and maybe the macs are crap because they are old ones, like a windows 95 is slow.

i would just buy a super good pc for the same price and put linux on it
