Default Switch CPU's?

I have this computer that has a Intel Processor. It sucks its only a 2.2. But this other computer I have has a 2.8. Is it possible to simple switch the 2 cpu's? I already know that each motherboard supports each type of CPU so no problem there. And if it is possible, Can you give me any tips or anything? Because I am no computer expert.

as long as each CPU is the same socket type and FSB you could just swap them
and be done
use CPUZ to double check the FSB and socket type on each pc
then once thats done its just a matter of physically swapping the cpus as long as they are compatiable

If you think you can, you CAN! If you think you cant, your right.

You might have to do a repair install of XP, assuming that is what you are running, but other than that you shouldn't have a problem as long as everything is compatible as you say it is.
