surround sound for you pc

i was just wondering cause the vid card had the hdtv hook ups...i didnt think it was really gonna work, cause im kinda old school so i expected the sound card that would use surround sound to have those big audio/video plugs, you know what i mean

onboard sound card is: 6-channel (5.1) high-definition audio that should be ok...but il let you guys tell me if it is or not lol

ya, that onboard stuff can be decent sometimes, not always.. but the stuff ive had has been good so far, just buy Headphone to RCA splitters and hook those into the 6ch input on your receiver and your good to go

as far as the video card supporting sound, im VERY confused on that, can somebody help me?? cause last time i checked hdtv doesnt have sound too... hdmi does, but i think that card just used component hdtv cables...

Usually, there should be a single jack for surrond sound, when it comes to sound cards. The surround is done by the base.
