Default Surf Anonymous Recommendation?

Does anyone have a recommenation for a program for surfing anonymously? I see a lot of them at Download.com but the reviews don't give a lot of confidence.

Thanks

for once i kinda agree with bluto, there is nothing you will gain by surfing anonymously. Firewall offers all the security you need.

Your never safe realy. Only thing proxys are good at are letting you get blocked sites on your school/work network.

Dear Bluto,

No need to be a jerk, I was told it could protect against hackers, pop up ads, spyware etc. I have a firewall and if that is enough protection why not just say so? Do you like making people feel like idiots for asking a simple question?
