it also depends on location and qaulity of your providor

other computers on your network (if you have one) and of course other programs using the web will affect it

i have another question.

what is the proggy that unlocks the hidden menus in the nvidia panel thing. menus such as the ocing menus. i know it exists because ive used it before

No, it's usually 2mbps download, and quite a slow upload, 256kbps here in the UK is the norm.

Although it may look a bit different on your card (i.e. minus the Optimal Frequencies box)

cable internet is faster then a t1 connection though. sure you get a deicated line with t1 but its capped at 1.5mbps or something of the sort. its more for companies, the average home user would not need it or be able to afford it, not unless you got like $10 000 a month hanging around for an internet bill lol
