ok, heres the setup... the main computer that the router is hooked up to, is in someone elses room... and they dont want to disable the firewall... im useing a wireless usb to get online... is there anything i can do to disable it, or have it not effect me... or does it just have to be shut off by the main computer its hooked to?

nope.

Just log into the router from any terminal..
But, if the admin has set a user and pass.. then your out of luck..

Get your IP address. Example.. If your ip is 192.196.0.104 then the routers IP would be 192.168.0.1 type that into your address bar and log in..

yea, she does have a password, and i do know it... also i forgot to mention the firewall is from the "sbc yahoo" program thingie, but i'll give it a try, thanks alot guys

I'm not sure about the SBC software but see if you can log in and put your self infront of the firewall. Some call it the DMZ
