Streaming video to .avi

I was just browsing youtube and wondered if there was a way to save a streamed video into a video file. Dose anyone have some info on the subject?

google around. theres loads of ways.
this is one way:
http://www.youtubex.com/ that will save the youtube video to flv format then this will convert the flv to your chosen format http://www.rivavx.com/index.php?encoder&L=3

There are other ways like a program called snagit, and you can get a firefox plugin aswell
