Default Stolen CPU?

Is there anyway I could find out where my computer is? One of my desktop PC was stolen .....Is there anyway when they connect to the internet or something I could trace it with some software?

oooo, that sucks.
how did it happen?
There isnt any, at least non that i known of. The only thing that i found close is either theres a mark on your computer and you recognize it, or that somehow, every time you turn on your computer, it takes a picture (like that one laptop).

I thought maybe through a IP or something of that nature...

Not unless you had some sort of software installed on the pc already for that sort of thing.

I'm sorry to say that it's VERY unlikely there is any way to trace it. An IP address is local to either the internet gateway, or the router is it connected to. LoJack is not a bad idea, but what about securing that Window? I'm sure there are more valuable things in the house than the computer!

I wouldnt be putting anything of value in front a window. If you do. Lock the window or put a stick in it so it can slide open.
