I had a pair given to me as a gift. I didn't like the noise canceling feature since it always gave me a headache while I was wearing them. Returned them two weeks later.

Ah that is actually nice to know. Because I can get headaches easily. I didn't wear the headphones for any length of time, so I wouldn't have noticed that.

Once my Sennheiser PX 100's break, i'm getting a new pair, seriously.
This pair has lasted me so far, around 5 years, and they are still going strong.

They aren't closed so the sound is a lot warmer, but because of this, sound does leak, but only at higher volumes.
I've listened to music on the bus/way home perfectly fine without any issues with sound upsetting anyone, or not being able to hear the music properly.

They are vibrant with wonderful response, lows and highs, and are the best set I've tried by far.

A really good match with an excellent player, and they are pretty cheap too!

on second thought even that rough budget is alot
so what about anything like $100 or less?
like these maybe?
