Default start up problems

Hey there. I am having some problems on start up. Occassionaly, about 1 out of 3 times when my system starts up, right when the desktop starts to load, my computer freezes up and I have to manually restart. I am wondering if this is due to my graphics card or driver problems, or if it has to do with my harddrive.

It could be a lot of things. I would run antivirus, antispyware, disk checkup, defragmenter and update all drivers.

I am running windows xp. I have had this problem ever since the beginning, so its probably not related to viruses.

LoL

Could always go on to the task manager and see whats taking up your CPU on startup.

You should try disabling some startup items in msconfig. I bet something in there is eating away at your memory.
