Default Speakers Problem

When I plug my headphones into my laptop, the sounds come out of the speakers and the headphones. I want them to just come through the headphones when they are plugged in whats the problem?

Make sure the headphones are plugged all the way in. If it is, the problem may be the hardware within the laptop. You can try to mute the laptop speakers by going into Control Panel.

It's got to be a problem with the sound component from within the laptop (hardware). If it's still new, whereever you got it from will open it up to test it. If they can't fix it, they'll give you a new laptop replacement.

There should be a dial thingy on the side of the computer that changes the volume of the speakers, turn that all the way down, the computer should still put out sound to the headphones and you can use the volume controller on the start bar.
