Default Speakers

I'm having trouble with my speakers. I do not have the driver disk and I have no idea what brand they are because they are really old. I can't use them because my new computer says I don't have any sound drivers installed. I'm running windows XP.

I'm not really sure what to do.

Did you build the PC yourself? Maybe try putting the motherboard CD in there to install the sound drivers from it.

Yea, I built it myself. Your answer solved the problem. My sound is still very low even on the highest setting. I'll have to come up with a solution to fix that.

Duoble check the control panel and go into the sound properties. There's a bunch of volume controls in different tabs that you can play with. Make sure nothing's muted and the actual speaker volume is up. Sometime, the software that goes with the drivers have their own separate sound control. They usually integrate it with Windows sound control, but sometime they don't. Double check the player volume level too.
