Sound Problem

When I first booted up my comp, the sound was working fine with my on board motherboard sound (nForce780i). Then, for some reason, it stopped working. I unplugged the HD Audio plug from my mobo and plugged it back in, but in the process I bent two of the prongs back from the connection on the mobo, flattening them. I used tweezers to place them back upright, and plugged the HD audio back in. It worked fine for awhile, but eventually quit on me. I have unplugged and plugged back in the HD Audio plug several times, with no luck. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Have you updated the sound drivers to the latest available? You should be able to either get them from the motherboard manufacturers website, or the audio manufacturer's website.

What motherboard and what audio?

Thank you Tommy Boy. I had already installed sound drivers, but your comment convinced me to do it again. The sound is working flawlessly, I appreciate it.
