Default sound problem

please I need help with:



1. I DO have audio in Media Player

2. I DO NOT have sound from audio on the internet.

3. I can't get the volume icon to show up on the taskbar ( option is checked in the property window)

Which motherboard or sound card do you have?
How long has it been like this?
Your speakers are definetly working yeah?

Uninstall all the drivers, then reinstall them.

Uumm..yeah, but you can just get them from the DELL website.

Thanks for everything ..... I tried it all including uninstalling and reinstalling the driver I downloaded from Dell. Still no change. I can't even get the volume icon to show. Also when I try to find it via the taskbar it's not even an option to customize.

thanks ... I don't know. I get audio to my speakers using Media Player or any other programm.
One more thing: in sound properties the MIDI playback box shows no driver. Every thime I select (the only) available option ( Microsoft GS Wavetable ...) it disapears again.
