Sound Card Problem

hi its my first time here and in need of help

i need to install Creative SoundBlaster Live sound card , right now i have Windows ME but i got the sound card for Xp becuase the current sound card i have dont work well with Xp so all i wana know is how to slot in new sound cards and also how how to take the other one out do i have to open the cpu as a whole please help me as i need to get Xp for my work and need to install this sound card and can you please let me know anything else i need to know thanks alot

just take the side panel off your pc usualy the left hand panel.

Than look for the white slots near the bottom of the cicuit board (motherboard)
take out one of the metal expansion slots towards the rear so your card can be fitted in.then take your card and slot it into one of the white pci slots and put the screw into the back plate to hold it in place.put the side panel back on and power up windows should pick up the card and ask for the installation disc pop in the disc that came with the card and follw the on screen instructions and thats it your good to go.
ps make sure the power is switched off before going ahead with this little venture
