sound card problem

well ive just rebooted my computer and put xp prof on it and now evry time i try to play music or anything it says no sound device found.ive tried installin drivers the speakers ar plugged in the sound card is connected properly so i dont no
any help will be appreciated

Sometimes...

Sometimes it's best to take out the pci cards when installing xp. I have had the same problems with xp pro. Take the cards out and do a clean install over again. Then one at a time add the cards back in. Shut down, install card, boot up. For each one.
 
No clue what that last post was suppose to say...

I assume when you say reboot you mean reload. You just have some card that windows doesn't have drivers for, no biggie. Easiest thing is look up info on your board, look for the chip(on the MB or on the card, however it is) or the model of the card(if you have a separate card) and find drivers for it. Driverguide.com is a good place to go if you can't find a manufacturers website or something like that...
