Sont Vegas 6.0 problem

Could anyone tell me if you need service pack1 to use Sony Vegas 6.0. I have service pack 2 and when i tried to install it i got a pop-up message about service pack 1(its nothing obvious like you need service pack 1 to use this program) but i cant remember what it said and i have deleted the setup file.
