Some questions... need help

How important is the amount of memory in the video card compared to the speed? Right now I have a 256MB Sapphire Radeon 9600 Atlantis video card, but someone on another forum said I should upgrade to this:

It's a lot faster but has less memory, would it be better?

Why does tigerdirect say everything has twice as much FSB as newegg?

Would getting 2GB of cheap-ish RAM be better than just having 1GB of good quality RAM in dual channel?

Edit: Also, on newegg items either say "OEM" or retail next to them. I know OEM means original equipment manufacturer, but what is the difference between that and the normal retail products?

Well, for video games... the 6600gt is a great choice. The memory isn't really all that matters you know... the 6600gt 128mb will outperform the 6200 256mb anyday... and your card too. It' just new technology, faster memory, more pipelines, etc. Yes, it would. I don't know why tigerdirect says 2ghz to newegg's 1ghz, but an amd is supposed to have 2ghz... I have 2200mhz on my amd... I'd say get the ocz... unless you're a MAJOR multitasker... you won't need it. OCZ makes excellent ram and that pair looks amazing. OEM is a manufacturer of component parts that are used by other companies. These parts are then incorporated, re-branded or modified by the other companies and sold to their consumers.

Investopedia Says: The term is most often used in the computer industry, where products such as Windows will be referred to as OEM. A company like Dell Computers will incorporate the Windows operating software into its computers and sell the computers to its customers with the Windows product installed. Retail just comes with more things, but is often more expensive than OEM. For cpu's, OEM is not good. They don't come with the heatsinks, etc, (to my knowledge) but like other things it's ok. How much of a difference between the 1GB OCZ and one set (1GB) of the Corsair would there be? I was thinking about just getting 1 set of the corsair for now and then later getting another if I needed it but if paying twice as much for the OCZ is worth it I might go for that...

Edit: I just looked at some of the reviews for both kinds of RAM and it looks like they both get similar timings.

Edit Again: Crap, it looks like the cpu I want has gone up $20 in the last few days on newegg.

Well, I'd say that the OCZ will last you a while, perform great, and do the job... but..... it's freakin expensive. Maybe go with some o' that corsair... or mabe some giel ram with heat speaders... what I have... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820144324

Yeah I was looking at geil memory yesterday, this is one of the other things I was thinking about getting instead of the corsair:

The kind you linked to is 240-pins would that work with an AMD? I thought they had to be 184.

Also, can anyone recommend a good, cost-effective motherboard that has 4 memory slots, supports dual-channel memory, and will work with an AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego or maybe a 3200+ Venice?
