Default Solutions for screen tearing?

I play the sims 3, and it does have some serious tearing.

System Specs: http://www.gateway.com/systems/product/529668210.php

I play other games, and there's no tear, I also put the v-sync on my gpu all the way. Please help me find my solution as to why there's screen tearing!

A lot of it's the way the game's programmed, I think. I have some screen tearing as well.

Bump. Is it a GPU, PSU, issue?

I'd go with Gibson. If he'd experienced issues with the Sims, then most likely it's the game itself. Try playing with display options.

If you want to monitor your GPU temps, check GPU-Z

It would be nice if you could post your system specs instead of a link to your blog.

I would suggest trying the newest drivers available from ATI

Also make sure that nothing is running in the background. Make sure to disable any virus scanners as some are known to conflict with the game. Look to see if there are any available patches or updates to the game that address this issue.
